Out of the 124 Ontario students that are selected annually (one student per provincial
riding/electoral district in Ontario), Trillium Demonstration School’s Chloe G. (Grade 10)
and Caleb T. (Grade 11) were selected to participate in the 2024 Legislative Assembly of Ontario’s Model Parliament Program.
Chosen as a result of their interest in current events, provincial issues, and the work being
done around Truth and Reconciliation, the Model Parliament Program endeavours to bring together students from across the province for a three day Model Parliament Program in Toronto, from February 28 to March 1, 2024.
The students will have the opportunity to play the role of a Member of
Provincial Parliament (MPP) and learn how parliament works through a series of
workshops and presentations. On site at the Legislature, Chloe and Caleb will take part in
authentic House experiences, such as attending caucus meetings and tabling/debating/voting on bills.
